X40 collars offer more configuration options than X30 collars.
Position transmission interval
The interval can be set to 3, 6, 9, or 60 seconds, or to AUTO mode.
In AUTO mode, the collar adapts the interval to the dog's movement. When the dog moves less or rests, the position is updated less frequently to reduce energy consumption. The longest interval is 60 seconds.
AUTO mode provides a practical balance between up-to-date position information and battery life.

Delete device
This option removes the device from its occupied position on the X40 handheld device.
When removing an X40 collar, verify that it successfully returns to pairing mode, indicated by alternating blue and red LED flashes. For automatic switching, the collar must be on and have a valid GPS position. Otherwise it may be removed from the handheld device without entering pairing mode.
In that case, connect to the collar using the mobile app and activate pairing mode manually.
Pairing protection prevents unauthorized use of a stolen collar. Returning the collar to pairing mode requires the PIN supplied with the device. Without it, the collar cannot normally be paired with another device.
Switch off device
An X40 collar can also be switched off from the handheld device: Menu → Device list → Select the desired collar → Switch off device.
The result is the same as switching off the collar by pressing and holding its button.
