Geofences in the collar
X40 collars can automatically evaluate the dog's location in relation to preset geofences. A geofence is a virtual boundary or zone where the collar can activate a sound warning or stimulation impulse.
Up to 5 geofences can be stored in the collar using the mobile app. Each geofence contains:
- Name – a custom geofence name.
- Active – determines whether automatic warnings and any correction are enabled.
- Correction on – determines whether the collar reacts when leaving or entering the zone.
- Sound zone width – the distance from the boundary at which the sound warning begins.
- Impulse level – stimulation intensity from 0 to 15. After the boundary is crossed, the impulse can repeat every 3 seconds, up to 5 times.
tip
The sound zone warns the dog before it reaches the geofence boundary. By setting an appropriate width, you can create an area in which the dog has time to respond to the sound warning before the configured correction is activated.
Configuring a geofence on the X40 handheld device

A geofence stored in the collar can also be configured or activated directly on the X40 handheld device.
You can find this option under:
